Heather’s practice focuses on business law, estate planning, and probate
administration. Prior to joining Jesson & Rains, Heather practiced for 22 years with her father at McKaig & McKaig, P.A., until his retirement and closing of the 5-decade old firm. Early in her career, Heather worked for 6 years in the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office prosecuting drug felonies, property offenses, and crimes against persons. She has performed more than 50 jury trials. A life-long Duke fan, Heather played Varsity Basketball for the Blue Devils, following in the footsteps of her father, Stuart, who played on Duke’s 1966 Final Four team. A native Charlottean, Heather lives in the Cotswold area of Charlotte with her 2 high-schoolers who attend Myers Park High School. Outside the office, she can be found in the bleachers or on the sidelines cheering on her kids or spending time at Lake Norman with family and her 2 rescue dogs. |
